More donors come on board in corona efforts

A political activist has donated her personal vehicle to help in ferrying Covid-19 cases and also sensitize the public on safety measures towards Covod-19.

Milka Psiwo, a political aspirant in the 2017 Saboti parliamentary seat, said that the vehicle would help vulnerable people who could be infected by the disease to reach hospital.

“I have donated this vehicle to see through the needy in the community across the county to help them reach hospitals during this Covid-19 period,” she said.

According to Ms. Psiwo, the vehicle would mostly assist women seeking maternity services as most women have shunned services of traditional birth attendants for fear of contracting coronavirus.

The political activist also gave 10 bags of maize to women in Matisi and Tuwan locations in Trans Nzoia West Sub County.

Speaking during the exercise, the Trans Nzoia County Commissioner, Samson Ojwang commended well-wishers for

complementing government’s effort in preventing the spread of corona virus.

The CC said that the vehicle would supplement services of ambulances set aside by the county response emergency committee team.

He called on more well-wishers to come on board to help in prevention measures and urged residents to adhere to the guidelines by the Ministry of Health, including hand washing, wearing of masks and social distancing to keep the virus at bay.
