Mobile registration exercise kicks-off in Kisii

Kisii Central Sub-County Deputy County Commissioner Wilberforce Kilonzo together with the office of Registrar of Persons (IDs) have rolled out a Mobile Registration Programme that will ease the registration of eligible residents.

In a press statement, Kilonzo stated that the programme will run from Monday 24th to Thursday 27th this week saying residents who already applied for ID cards should collect them from their respective chiefs and assistant chiefs’ offices.

He noted that residents who have not applied and are aged 18 years and above should present themselves with the original ID card of one parent and applicant’s birth certificate or notification of birth or school leaving certificate and be registered.

The Deputy County Commissioner stated that on Monday 24th, the mobile programme will be at Birongo Market and Kegati Chiefs Camp serving Taracha, Birongo, Kegati, Nyanko, and Bosongo locations.

He added that registration centres to be at Nyabisabo and Menyinkwa markets will be registering people from Ibeno, Kerera, Bosongo, Nyaura, and Masongo locations on Tuesday 25th.

“On Wednesday 26th, the mobile programme will serve Kiogoro, Matunwa, Masongo, and Nyanko Market from Keumbu Market and Nyabiuto Shopping Centre. On Thursday 27th, they will be at Birongo Market and Kegati Chiefs Camp serving Taracha, Birongo, Kegati, Nyanko, and Bosongo locations,” read the statement.

Kilonzo further stated that all chiefs and assistant chiefs will be at the mobile registration centres to serve residents adding that the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) registration personnel will also be present to register eligible voters.
