Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) is set to establish a school of leadership in the labour movement.
Vice Chancellor Professor Solomon Shibairo, with leaders from the MMUST council, met Central Organization of Trade Union (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli to evaluate the progress of the centre to be named Dr. Atwoli International Center for Labor and Leadership Studies (DAICELLS).
Shibairo said the school will train Kenyans on the labour movement in response to the dynamics in the sector.
The school is part of flagship projects the university is undertaking to make it a center of excellence in training Kenyans to provide solutions to the day to day challenges affecting the society.
“We are proud that we are going to develop a school of leadership in labour movements. With this, we are going to be known in this country as we bring out the best,” he noted.
