Missing Dela MCA found alive

Dela Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Yussuf Hussein Tolfiyo has finally reunited with his family in Nairobi, six months after his mysterious disappearance in September last year.

Eldas Member of Parliament Adan Keynan, who is also a relative of Yussuf, confirmed the news, stating that he is in good health and high spirits.

“Thank God Yussuf is alive and at home. He is in good health. His reappearance is by the grace of Allah,” Keynan stated, attributing his return to divine intervention rather than any specific individual or institution.

Wajir Governor and Council of Governors Chairperson Ahmed Abdullahi expressed his joy and relief following Yussuf’s safe return.

“Alhamdulillah! I am happy to have received the good news of Yussuf Hussein’s safe return and reunion with his family after months of uncertainty. Since his disappearance, the people of Wajir have endured a painful period of anxiety, prayers, and unwavering hope for his safe return. This reunion brings immense relief and joy to our community. It is a moment of gratitude and renewed hope for his family and all those who stood by them during these difficult times,” he said on X.

“On behalf of the people of Wajir County, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who played a role in ensuring his safe return. May this moment mark the beginning of healing, peace, and renewed strength for him and his loved ones,” he added.

Wajir Women Representative Fatuma Jehow also confirmed that Yussuf was received by relatives and loved ones at their home in Eastleigh, Nairobi, on Saturday evening.

“This is a huge wave of relief, a tidal wave of joy. I can almost feel the collective sigh of relief from every Wajirian, especially our beloved people of Eldas, who have carried this burden with us,” she wrote on Facebook.

Yussuf was reported missing on September 13, 2024, along Enterprise Road in Nairobi’s Industrial Area.

A month later, a body was recovered from Lake Yahud in Wajir town and initially believed to be his.

Family members and locals crowded the morgue to identify the remains, which showed signs of severe torture and decomposition.

However, two independent DNA tests later confirmed that the body was not Yussuf’s.
