Migori engage KMPDU officials to iron out issues at County level

Migori County through its County Secretary Oscar Olima has engaged the Migori Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacist, and Dentist Union (KMPDU) liaison officials to help resolve some of the issues at the local level.

Olima however, noted that among the eight issues raised by the National KMPDU officials who are currently on strike, none of the issues directly affects the County level, adding that the County has always paid the medical Practitioners on time.

On the issue of internships, Olima disclosed that the County has a local internship policy that streamlines the way the interns are handled and absorbed.

Olima affirmed that the meeting agreed that the County residents needed services urgently highlighting that health care services are a critical sector in the country.

Currently, more than 200 facilities in the County have been affected by the KMPDU countrywide strike.

Migori KMPDU liaison Official Dr. Daniel Agullo said that the meeting was fruitfully noting that he will consult with the national KMPDU official at the national level for a way forward.
