Meru museum offering exhibitions for children

The  Meru National Museum has partnered with Gift Masters Kenya to start programmes for children to learn various activities over this Christmas holidays.

The  Museum’s Deputy Curator (DC), Rebecca Mwinzi said the two organizations have initiated arts programmes targeting children aged between 3 to 13 years which started yesterday and would run for one month.

Speaking to KNA on Tuesday, Mwinzi said the lineup would include, specific exhibitions on reptilia, human evolution and documentaries on various cultures, ecology and study about birds which were all available in the museum.

Mwinzi said that a special documentary about the ‘big five’ wildlife animals, including elephant, lion, rhino, buffalo and leopard was available for shows in the museum which was suitable for youths and adults.

The DC called upon parents to encourage their children to visit the museum during this long holiday to know about their heritage.

Mwinzi  said currently, the Meru museum covered Meru, Isiolo, Marsabit, Tharaka Nithi and Embu counties.
