One thousand patients with spinal and back related problems were treated during a two day medical camp at Nyanchwa Mission Hospital in Kisii Town.
Mediheal Group of Hospitals organized the event to offer free specialized services for the patients who turned in large numbers to benefit from the services.
Speaking to KNA, the Vice President of Mediheal Group of Hospitals Dr. Gokul Prem said their main objective was to help patients realize their diseases at the earliest stage and enable them to live a pain free life.
Gokul noted that they also aimed at creating awareness on the importance of hygiene to prevent certain conditions.
Mediheal operations vice president Dr. Umesh Techa vowed to make logistics for transportation of patients with special cases to their Hospital in Eldoret, for advanced treatment including joint replacements.
He added that similar camps are being held in Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi and Ethiopia.
Arthritis, dental and eye related diseases were other ailments diagnosed and attended to at the camp.
Thomas Kebwaro, a 70 years old man who had been suffering from spine pains for five years said he had high hopes of being totally cured.
