MCA arrested for assaulting the County Assembly Clerk

Police  in  Homa Bay County  have arrested MCA for Kojwach ward, Joan  Ogada for allegedly assaulting the County Assembly Clerk, Daniel Kaudo in his office on Wednesday  morning.

Ogada  allegedly  stormed the clerk’s office alongside other two MCAS where they attacked and roughed him up before  destroying office equipment over unknown reasons.

Confirming the incident to KNA, the Homa Bay County Deputy Police Commander, Samuel Obara said that Ogada was arrested within the assembly precincts after they assaulted the clerk and tore his clothes.

Obara  said  that two other MCAs  who also participated in the incident were identified as Maurice Ogwang of Kendu Bay Town ward  and his Kabuoch South counterpart, Oscar  Abote. They escaped the police dragnet as police wanted them arrested and charged with assault.

He  said that a team of investigators from the CID office in Homa Bay  were also moving into the office of the clerk to investigate the allegations on the damage of the office equipment by the suspects.

Ogada  has  recorded her statement and she was expected to be arraigned in court in the cause of the day.
