 Maragua schools get infrastructural uplift

Maragua Member of Parliament Mary Wamaua has invested in a detailed infrastructural development for schools, aimed at safeguarding the well-being of students in the area.

Speaking at Kahaini Primary School in Kamahuha Ward on Tuesday, when commissioning four junior secondary school classrooms, Wamaua observed that a cordial learning environment was critical to improving pupils outcomes.

“We are going to make Maragua constituency an educational community by ensuring that pupils have a comfortable learning environment, which will in turn help them register for even better performance going forward,” she said.

At the same time, the MP launched the construction of an 8-door ablution block, with one of them earmarked for persons with disabilities at Wathiani primary school, at a cost of Shs. 500,000.

“At Huhoini Primary School, we will construct one modern ablution block for people with disabilities, one for the teaching staff, and an 8-door modern ablution block for girls, all at a cost of Sh900,000, she added.

The Maragua NG-CDF kitty will also oversee the renovation of classrooms at Ndera Primary School and the construction of an ablution block for boys and another for people with disabilities, at a cost of Sh1.2 million.

Wamaua equally urged parents to closely work with teachers with a view to encouraging their children to take education matters seriously, as this will eventually reduce the number of dropouts and ensure a 100 percent transition in the area.

Additionally, Kangangu and Kirimiri Primary Schools will each receive Sh1.2 million for the construction of two separate 8-door modern ablution blocks for boys and girls, as well as a 2-door modern ablution block for people with disabilities.
