Elwak youths in Mandera have engaged their Somalia counterparts in building peace in the region.
Issa Mohamed a youth leader said they organized a football competition to engage neighbouring Somalia in peaceful coexistence.
Mohamed said the region has had several terror incidents and that youth in Kenya are committed to ending the vice.
Another youth from Kenya, Issa Adan said the only way of bringing peace in the region was through social engagements.
Solomon Joshua, Mandera Central Assistant County Commissioner, said the area has unique challenges due to its proximity to the border.
He welcomed the football tournament as it will assist in building peace in the region.
