The Mandera county government has embarked on spraying insecticides to get rid of locusts that are destroying every vegetation.
The County Executive for Agriculture, Mohammed Johara while flagging off the exercise warned that any locust invasion was an international disaster.
Johara said the locusts that came from Somalia were fast spreading and were now migrating to the neighbouring counties of Wajir and Marsabit.
She called on the national government and other development partners to join the fight against the menace.
The county executive speaking on Wednesday in Mandera town said the county administration left alone cannot manage to completely wipe out the locusts.
