Mandera county government has launched an ambitious affirmative fund for poor bright students in the region.
The Mandera Governor, Ali Roba while initiating the over Shs.126 million fund, said the money will assist poor and bright students accomplish their education.
Roba said his administration will support students in secondary schools, tertiary institutions and university.
The governor said already, 15 girls who sat for the 2018 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) are already benefiting from the affirmative bursary action fund.
He said the department of education is committed to upscaling equity in the education sector where the poor and rich will have an opportunity of realising their dreams.
