Man succumbs to head Injury at Coast General Hospital

Police in Watamu are holding a 27-year-old man from Mida Majaoni village of Malindi Sub-County, who killed his friend by hurling stones at him by use of a catapult.
While drinking, a local brew, popularly known as, ‘mnazi’ with his friend at a mnazi den, its reported that the victim, John Ndondo was seriously injured on the head after being hit with the stone by Kalume Chengo, using a catapult, after a fierce exchange of words between the two got out of hand.
Confirming the incident on telephone Monday, Mida-Majaoni Assistant Chief, Mr. Renson Baya said the deceased succumbed to the head injury while receiving treatment at the Mombasa Coast General Hospital.
Baya added that the suspect is being detained at the Watamu police station for grilling as indepth investigations are underway.
He added, “insecurity issues are highly common at mnazi dens during night hours. We therefore caution against operating mnazi dens at night hours, saying, soon a crackdown will be launched to apprehend those going against the new directive.”
