Police in Makueni County have arrested a 24-year-old man found transporting bhang valued at Sh30, 000 using a motorcycle in Kibwezi Sub-county in Makueni.
Peter Musee Kimanzi, was nabbed at Kibwezi bus stage on Thursday, while trafficking the illicit drugs to a well-known local dealer who is still at large. The bhang was concealed in a sack of cabbages, potatoes and carrots.
“The police laid an ambush after they received a tip-off from members of the public. After a short while, an unregistered motorcycle being ridden by one, Peter Musee Kimanzi, emerged while heading to the suspect’s house.
“On searching it, we found bhang concealed in vegetables,” said the County Police Commander, Joseph Ole Naipeyan, while speaking to KNA on phone, Friday morning.
He said the suspect was being interrogated at Kibwezi Police Station, while the said motorcycle was also impounded.
The Police Commander said the suspect will be arraigned in court once investigations were concluded to face charges of trafficking narcotic drugs.
