A young man killed his cousin on Christmas day in unclear circumstances in Marmanet area, Nyahururu Sub-County in Laikipia County.
Laikipia County Police Commander Samson Kipkeu told KNA last Thursday that the duo were walking home in the company of a lady, after a drinking spree when the incident occurred.
He noted the incident which occurred at 4.00pm saw the two pick a quarrel and one of them removed a knife and stabbed the other killing him on the spot.
The police commander noted the assailant disappeared to unknown place after killing his cousin.
“Police are pursuing the assailant who is well known in the area,” Kipkeu added.
The body of the deceased was taken to Nyahururu hospital mortuary.
Kipkeu added that this is the only nasty incident, reported in Laikipia County since December 25.
He pointed out that no accident was reported on the roads in the County during the two days of festivities, adding that police had mounted road blocks to ensure traffic regulations were adhered to by all motorists and boda operators.
