Man Killed in Narok Accident

A man died on the spot while two others sustained serious injuries after a vehicle they were traveling in lost control and rolled several times at Katakala area in Narok South Sub County last evening.

Confirming the incident, Narok South Sub County Police Commandant Ezekiel Kiche said the ill-fated vehicle, a Prado, was heading to Narok town from Mulot and was trying to evade a speeding Probox that was overtaking from the opposite direction when the accident ocurred.

“Unfortunately, the Prado lost control and rolled into a ditch while the Probox sped off towards the Mulot side. The vehicle had three people on board during the time of the accident and the deceased happens to be a brother to the driver,” said Kiche.

The two survivors were rushed to Narok County Referral Hospital and admitted. The body was also moved to the same facility’s morgue for preservation.

The police boss appealed to the motorists to observe traffic rules to minimize accidents. “Drivers should be very vigilant when driving and more so when overtaking. They should observe simple traffic rules like avoiding overtaking on slopes or around the corner. Let us be each other’s keeper on the roads,” he advised.

Kiche however warned reckless drivers that the law will take its course and they will be charged for their misdeeds.
