A 28-year-old man has been found dead in a suspected suicide incident after he was reported missing in Kwale County.
Police said the body of Mungai Ngugi Kunjo who hailed from Meru was found by villagers dangling from a tree deep in a nearby forest next to Mbuyuni quarry in Mabendani area, Msambweni Sub-county.
The deceased went missing on Monday at 8am and a search mounted by neighbours in the nearby bushes in vain.
The search was intensified and at around 9.30pm, the victim’s lifeless body was discovered in the forest.
County Commissioner Mr. Karuku Ngumo confirmed the incident saying it was not immediately clear why man decided to take his life as no suicide note was left behind.
“Police from Shimoni Police Station visited the scene and investigations have commenced,” he said adding that the body was taken to Msambweni Referral Hospital for postmortem.
