A Makueni court fined a man Sh 10,000 or in default serve 3 months in prison for stealing paint worth Sh 8,600.
Appearing before Senior Resident Magistrate Martin Mutua, the accused Muange Kiilu pleaded guilty to the charge of stealing.
The court heard that on October 24, 2023, Kiilu stole 2 tins of 4 litres paint from his employer Morris Ilai Muunda valued at Sh 8,600 at 1.30pm at Kitise market in Kathozweni Subcounty.
“With all taken into consideration, the accused is sentenced to pay a fine of Sh 10,000 or serve 3 months imprisonment,” said Mutua in his ruling.
The accused has 14 days to appeal the sentence.
