A 43 year old man committed suicide under unclear circumstances just few hours after he had been discharged from a Hospital at Kakur village in Kokuta location of Ndhiwa Sub County, Homa Bay County.
The deceased George Onyango Okoth hanged himself on Saturday using a sisal rope on top of a mango tree at his relative’s home for unknown reasons.
Confirming the incident to KNA, area chief of Kokuta Location George Awuoche said the deceased was discharged last evening from Pala health centre where he was admitted two days ago before sneaking into his neighbour’s home to take away his life.
Awuoche revealed that the deceased killed himself in a home of one of the people who took him home after he had been discharged from the health facility.
The administrator further said that the deceased’s wife also died one week ago after a short illness and her body is still lying at the morgue.
He added that they have not established the reasons why the deceased decided to take away his life since he never left behind any suicide note.
The body has been moved to Homa Bay County referral hospital mortuary awaiting post-mortem as police officers have launched investigations.
