A middle aged man has shocked members of the public after he was arraigned before a Machakos court charged with raping three women.
Dennis Mutunga Musyoki who denied the charges before Machakos Principal Magistrate Caroline Ocharo is also facing another count of robbery with violence.
According to charges that were read before him in court yesterday, Musyoki who remained composed throughout the proceedings is said to have committed the offences on diverse dates between January 9, 2018 and January 21 this year.
In the first count, he is a charged that on September 9 2018, he allegedly raped a woman (name withheld) while at Kaveani market in Kathiani sub county Machakos County.
He also faces an alternative charge of committing an indecent act with an adult contrary to section 11(A) of the sexual offenses Act no.3 of 2006.
The accused is similarly charged that on January 21 2019 at around 4pm, he raped another woman (name withheld) in Kaveani village, Iveti location, Kathiani Sub County within Machakos County.
The accused is also faced with an alternative charge of committing an indecent act with adult contrary to section 11(A) of the sexual offenses Act no.3 2006.
Musyoki is also accused that on January 15 2019 at 10 pm and while armed with a knife and syringe, he violently robbed one Muthoki Musau of her two mobile phones valued at Sh 9,000.
He is said to have executed the crime at the popular Eureka Lodging located within Machakos The offence is in contravention to section 296(2) of the penal code. He is also faces an alternative charge of committing an indecent act with an adult.
The court released the suspect on a Sh 150,000 bond for each of the first two counts with a surety of a similar amount and Sh 500,000 bond for the last two charges.
He will appear again in court on February 5 2019.
