Police in Narok East have arrested a 35-year-old man alleged to have assaulted his seven-year-old step-son in Lemuten Kojongà village in Mosiro area by burning him with a hot panga on various parts of the body.
Confirming the accident, Narok East Sub – County Police Commander Mr. Jarred Okari Marando said the suspect, Robert Ombaga Odusu is reported to have assaulted the minor with the hot panga on diverse dates when the mother of the boy was away, but the minor was on Saturday afternoon rescued by neighbours during such an assaulting incident. They reported the matter to the police.
The victim is recuperating at Narok Referral Hospital while the suspect is being held at Ntulele Police station. He will be arraigned before court on Monday to answer charges of assaulting a minor.
The suspect alleges the minor has been stealing money and other items from him leading to the punishments but this is yet to be confirmed.
