National and County Government officials in Makueni County have pledged to work together for the enhanced realization of development in the county.
Speaking, Wednesday, during a familiarisation meeting between both administrations at the County level, the area Governor, Mutula Kilonzo Jnr, said collaboration and unity attracts goodwill from National Governments and partners, who will implement projects that will benefit the residents.
“This collaboration must continue, let us frequently consult with each other in championing the interest of the residents,” said Mutula Jnr at his office in Wote.
The area County Commissioner, William Kaimba, expressed his commitment to work together as a Multi-agency Team, while implementing government policies and development projects.
“I promise cooperation, we need to work together as Multi-agency Team in implementing policies and development projects for the benefits of the people,” said Kaimba
Kaimba reiterated the National Government’s commitment in working with the County Government, to ensure the residents get better service delivery.
He encouraged the Sub-county commissioners to work closely with their counterparts in their jurisdictions in addressing issues affecting the residents.
Also present during the familiarisation meeting were area Deputy Governor, Lucy Mulili, County Speaker, Douglas Mbilu, Deputy County Commissioners, Joel Mwangala, several Members of the County Assembly and County Executive Members.
The purpose of the meeting was to strengthen intergovernmental relations and cooperation.
