Makueni County partner with EMKF in emergency response

 

The Emergency Medicine Kenya Foundation (EMKF) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the County Government of Makueni to enhance emergency healthcare services in the area.

The partnership agreement was signed between the Makueni County Deputy Governor (DG) Lucy Mulili and EMKF Executive Director, Dr. Benjamin Wachira at the County headquarters, Wednesday.

EMKF is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) that supports government’s emergency healthcare providers across Kenya by strengthening emergency care through training, research, advocacy, and system development.

The partnership, will guide the creation of County-Specific Emergency Medical Care (EMC) and emergency medical services plans and will also train health workers, community health workers with emergency response knowledge and establish 24/7 centralized dispatch to improve ambulance coordination and emergency response efficiency.

Mulili commended the partnership terming the collaboration, timely and a game changer in the County’s health sector. 

Present at the event was County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Health Services, Dr. Paul Musila, among other county departmental officers.
