Makueni County Government intends to plan Makindu town

Makueni County Government has given a notice to residents and stakeholders of the intention to prepare a physical development and land use plan for Makindu Township in Kibwezi West Sub County.

“The purpose of the plan is to ensure orderly, coordinated, harmonious and progressive development of infrastructural facilities and services and development of the land for socio-economic development,” read part of the notice released yesterday by the department of Land, Urban planning and development.

Consequently, the county officials are planning to hold adequate stakeholders’ meetings in the township for input and considerations before the completion of the plan. However, there is no timeline given in the notice.

Residents and stakeholders have been asked to give their comments and suggestions on the same or seek inquiries in writing to the County Executive Member (CEC) Land, Urban Planning and Development, Environment and Climate change.

The expected plan will be valid for an initial period of five years and is subject to periodic review.
