Makueni CECs take oath of office

County Executive Committee members (CECs) of Makueni were sworn in Tuesday to offer services to the people in their respective dockets.

Speaking at the Governor’s office after overseeing the swearing in of 10 CECs, Governor Mutula Kilonzo (Jnr) said the new experienced team will transform the county.

“As long as I am here as your team leader, we are going to transform Makueni in a systematic manner,” said Mutua at his office.

Consequently, the governor urged the team to start the work immediately and deliver quality services to the residents.

“We must deliver medicine and water to the people of Makueni, we must sell their mangoes and juice for them to benefit from their hard work,” added Mutula.

The Governor encouraged them to collaborate with their respective national government officials in delivering their services.

“Please corporate and coordinate and work together with your counterparts at the national government,” he added.

The 10 CECS include Peter Mumo Nyamai (Trade, Marketing, Industry, Culture & Tourism), Eng. Sebastian Kyoni (Infrastructure, Transport, Public Works, and Energy), Eng. John Kasyoki (Water and Sanitation), Dr. Paul Musila (Health Services), Nicholas Masila Nzioka (Gender, Children, Youth, Sports & Social Service) and Japheth Musyoka Mang’oka (Devolution, Public Service, Public Participation & Special Programmes.

Others are Damaris Mumo Kavoi (Finance, Planning, Budget & Revenue), Dr. Sonia Nzilani Musyoka (Lands Urban Planning & Development, Environment & Climate Change), Elizabeth Ndunge Muli (ICT Education & Internship) and Joyce Mutua – Agriculture, Irrigation, Livestock, Fisheries & Cooperative Development

Makueni County Commissioner Beverly Opwora assured the team of her unwavering support, while urging them to make a difference in the lives of the people.

“Make a difference in the lives of the people of Makueni so that they can support the development of the county and the nation at large,” said Opwora.

On her part, Makueni Women Representative Rose Museo lauded the team, assuring them of political goodwill in order to perform their duties efficiently.

“We will give you all the support as politicians in order to work and perform your duties well,” said Museo

Also present during the event was the Principal Secretary Nominee for Devolution Teresia Mbaika.
