Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has announced the inauguration of the Machakos Level 5 Hospital Board led by Bishop Charles Kababu that will ensure efficient running of the largest medical facility in the county.
Governor Wavinya noted that the Board, now fully constituted with a CEO and other key members, is expected to streamline healthcare services amid increasing demand for quality medical care while planning strategies that will align with their vision to ensure better services for Machakos people.
“The board will take charge of strategic planning, budgeting, and developing work plans aligned with our vision for quality healthcare,” said the Governor.
Speaking at her office after the inauguration, the Governor noted the increase of patients streaming in from the counties of Makueni, Kajiado and Kitui to seek medical services from Machakos level 5 hospital.
“Machakos level 5 hospital now has a fully constituted board of management complete with a CEO. I charge them to settle as soon as possible and tackle the prevailing challenges to ensure delivery of quality healthcare services to our people,” added the Governor.
Governor Wavinya acknowledged the computerizing of hospital operations saying the initiative has seen annual revenue collection increase to 241 million from Sh 30 million annually previously.
The Governor also witnessed the swearing in of a new County Executive Committee (CEC) Member for Water, Environment and Climate change Ms Anastacia Wayua earlier sworn in by Justice Mutuku of the Machakos High court.
Wavinya added that climate change, water and environment are a critical pillar in her mantra of “Chakula Mezani pesa mfukoni” that is meant to transform Machakos residents and assured Mrs Wayua of her full support and that of the county government to enable her fulfill her mandate.
She urged all public officers to uphold integrity and professionalism while performing their duties stressing: “I would like to emphasize that public service demands integrity, professionalism, and discipline. I urge all officers to adhere to the code of conduct.”
