A total of 107,895 candidates in Machakos will be sitting for national examinations this year according to the County Director of Education (CDE)Margaret Mwirigi.
Mwirigi said 31,473 learners will sit for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) while 41,318 for Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE)and 31,473 for Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA).
The CDE told KNA today that the examinations will be conducted in 2,702 centres across the county.
She said out of the total learners sitting for KCPE and KCSE, 208 are adults registered as private candidates.
“The adult candidates will write their examinations in 12 centres. Out of the total,155 will sit for KCSE while 53 will sit for KCPE,”added the CDE.
Mwirigi disclosed that the county was well prepared for the examinations and adequate measures have been put in place to ensure that the exercise runs smoothly.
“We have mobilized enough resources including vehicles. We are set for the examinations, “added the CDE.
