Lodwar residents have hailed the security officers for patrols conducted at night, which have enhanced security in the town.
The patrols come days after area sub-county police commander Lemmy Njiru promised to curb insecurity that had affected businesses at night.
“I want to assure Lodwar residents that we shall do everything possible to deal with criminal gangs in this town through lawful means,” he said, during a farewell party of the outgoing Lodwar OCS Davis Mutegi.
A resident, James Karani, said he was satisfied with the work the police were doing, which has made it safe for law-abiding residents to walk at night without fear.
“Traders are now safe to conduct their businesses at night in line with their licenses,” said Karani.
The beefing up of security comes after one person was attacked and killed early this month in his home in Kawalase village.
Police have also launched a crackdown against illicit brews in California estate.
