Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Kenya Jackson Ole Sapit and Nandi senator Samson Cherargei have called for life imprisonment or any other tough measures against individuals killing innocent girls in AirBnB.
Speaking during the consecration and dedication of newly constructed St. John’s Marinyin ACK church at Kiropket in Nandi County, the duo said the moral decay in our society is very bad calling on the church to pray for this nation.
The Archbishop stated that our young girls are being lured into illicit sex and other practices that are not acceptable in the society leading to rampant killings.
“We want to urge our girls to first be their self-guards, to protect themselves, to know whom you are going to talk to and what they are inviting you for and say no to anything that is going to jeopardize not only your life but your faith,” he said.
Sapit also called upon the government to investigate which are these markets that culprits sell human parts after killing them
“Unless we nab it from where it is encouraged, we may be just addressing symptoms of something more serious and more heinous. We may not know even what happened in Shakahola, if it was related to human sacrifices or selling of human bodies because getting to kill people in masses in those large numbers is unacceptable in our society,” he said.
Sapit said that if we all turn to God; we don’t need to go into these places because the Almighty is there to give us all that we need in life.
“Let us be protectors of each other and communities to be vigilant. If there are areas that are known and prone for some of these practices, the government should follow it up, investigate and know the movement of these people who are doing these atrocities and for those who are apprehended, we call for tough measures that they will never return to society and mingle with our children,” he said.
On his part, the Nandi senator said those who are apprehended should be charged with high degree murder for killing innocent girls and leaving their families in agony.
Cheragei also called upon the government to regulate social media outlets among them Tiktok, Facebook, Instagram, telegram so that they can be able to trace individuals luring young girls and killing them.
“I want to call upon young people to be vigilant and not to be swayed away by big cars, which will lead to their destruction,” he said.
