Launch of MSME Exchange Training Program

Kiambu County Executive Committee of Trade, Industrialisation, Tourism and Investment Nancy Gichungwa has launched the MSME Exchange Training Programme.

The programme is a collaborative effort between Zetech University, the University of Witwatersrand and the Wholesale and Retail Sector Education Training Authority of South Africa (W&R-SETA).

Speaking Thursday, Gichungwa noted the significance of the joint efforts, saying it was a journey embarking to empower and uplift the hearts of entrepreneurship.

She emphasised that the programme holds within it the promise of transformation, marking a testament to the power of partnerships.

“The goal of the programme is simple yet profound: to equip 120 informal traders from South Africa with the tools, knowledge, and insights they need to thrive in the world of small business management. The programme, which will run for a year, will be administered by Zetech University,” she added.

Gichungwa expressed her gratitude to the entrepreneurs for their commitment to fostering growth, nurturing innovation, and promoting education as a means of empowerment stating that their insights are invaluable to the attendees.

The program was inaugurated by the High Commissioner of the Republic of South Africa in Kenya and the Permanent Representative to the United Nations office in Nairobi Mninwa Johannes Mahlangu.

This initiative is a significant step towards fostering entrepreneurial growth and innovation in the region.

The MSME Exchange Training Programme is expected to have a transformative impact on the participants, equipping them with the necessary skills to thrive in their businesses.
