Khwisero sub-county residents will benefit from the last-mile electricity connectivity project spearheaded by the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation (REREC).
Area Member of Parliament (MP) Christopher Aseka said the initiative would ensure most remote areas access essential services that drive growth and development.
The MP was speaking during a public participation forum for the last mile electricity connectivity for Mushinaka, Eshimenya, Ebuchwetsi, and Ebukanga villages in Mundobelwa sub-location, Kisa North Ward.
The legislator said increasing access to power in rural areas is a catalyst to transforming the lives and livelihoods of the people.
Over 5000 households in the region are set to benefit from the Last Mile electricity connectivity project.
The MP later handed over four newly constructed police houses under Khwisero NG-CDF at Khwisero Police Station.
He said the project would enhance the officers’ welfare and strengthen the security infrastructure in the constituency to benefit all residents.
“Together with security agencies, we will continue addressing emerging challenges to maintain peace and safety in our region,” he noted.
