Khwisero Member of Parliament (MP) Christopher Aseka has said the last mile electricity connectivity will be a crucial factor for socio-economic development in the area.
This is after Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation (REREC) way-leave officers engaged with the residents in readiness for the project.
While speaking on Tuesday in Mundobelwa Sub-Location, Kisa North Ward, Aseka said the task compliments the approved connections in various parts of the constituency.
He said the project involves the last-mile maximization of the indicated existing transformers to reach more households.
“On my working tour of duty, I held a very successful public participation forum in Mundobelwa sub-location focusing on implementing the last mile electricity connectivity project in Khwisero Sub County,” he said.
He said the event marked a significant step towards ensuring every household could access electricity.
Aseka said inclusive development was essential and ensured residents were part of the decision-making process.
“Access to electricity is not about lighting our homes. It is about powering our dreams and businesses to improve quality of life,” he said.
Later, he handed a newly constructed assistant chief’s office in Mulwanda Sub-Location and five renovated classrooms at Mulwanda Primary School funded by the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF).
He said the projects marked significant strides in enhancing local governance and educational infrastructure in the area.
The legislator said the new office would boost administrative efficiency while the refurbished classrooms created a better learning environment for the pupils.
“I reaffirm my commitment to prioritizing projects that directly benefit our people and uplift their standards of living,” he said.
