Laikipia residents cautioned against illicit brews

Laikipia County residents have been cautioned against consumption of illicit alcohol that could endanger their lives.

Laikipia East Deputy commissioner while speaking in Ndemu primary school in Daiga division Thursday during Jamhuri day celebrations, pointed out that wayward people could take advantage of the festivals and sell the outlawed drinks.

“Some people are saying this December I will do things  that I can generate money from including mixing water with ethanol because there are those with big appetite for alcohol so be warned, “he  said.
“This is a season with a lot of activities and temptations. There are parents who will be lost in between those celebrations and forget about their parental responsibilities. I want to urge you that this is the season you should be closer to your children.”

While urging parents to spend prudently, he called on parents to monitor their children as they merry to avoid attacks from sexual predators.

At the same time, the administrator encouraged residents to report any illegal activities adding that security has been beefed up across the country during the festive season.
He further urged residents to enroll in the Social Health Authority (SHA), a government program they were meant to enable them to benefit from medical services.

Muli said that earlier hitches that were being experienced during treatment under SHA were addressed and that the services were seamless.
