The Government has put on notice local brewers engaging in selling illicit brews in Laikipia County.
Laikipia East Assistant Deputy County Commissioner, Ms Monica Muthoni, speaking over the weekend in Likii Sub-location after an illicit brews’ crackdown, said the government will not relent until the outlawed business is brought to an end.
“Let this be a warning to those who prepare illicit brews in this area or even those who might think of getting in this business, that fight against illicit brews still continues, until we completely eliminate it,” warned the Assistant Deputy Commissioner (ACC).
She pointed out that the use of drugs and substance abuse was hurting residents and Country’s economy.
Meanwhile, the Assistant Deputy Commissioner, said during the illicit brew crackdown in Likii, they nabbed about 2,500 litres in one of the homestead belonging to Ms Monica Njeri.
She further said that Ms Njeri, will be arraigned in court of Law.
