Kwale Governor, Fatuma Achani, says her Administration will focus on the provision of access roads across the coastal County.
Governor Achani says the construction of roads will link up communities, support economic growth and improve the lives of the people.
She said this when she officially launched the grading ,murraming and compacting of rural Mwabovo -Mwagunda road in Lungalunga Sub-County.
Achani said the project will boost agriculture and socio-economic development in the Sub counties and reduce rural-urban migration.
The County boss said the 12-kilometer road will open up the area for development and transform agricultural activities.
Achani said the road project, which is expected to be complete in the next three months, will not only improve economic activities, but drastically reduce travel time and reduce transportation costs.
“When complete, this road will boost the agro-economy and security of this area in particular and Kwale in general,” she said.
She assured that her Administration will modernize and maintain existing roads and connect more rural communities with new roads.
Achani said more new roads would be launched in the six sub counties to reduce the suffering of the people experience on the roads as well as boost agricultural and socio-economic activities in the rural areas.
“Construction of rural roads and other infrastructure would also improve the standard of living of the people of the benefiting communities,” she said.
