Kitui Media FC beats Makueni Media FC

Kitui Media FC defeated their host Makueni 3–1 in a football friendly match played on Tuesday at Unoa Grounds in Wote.

In a thrilling match that attracted football fans in town, Kitui dominated the first half by controlling the game and creating several opportunities.

Makueni FC scored their only goal in the 8th minute after Stanley Kiwia successfully converted a long-range shot into the net.

This was responded to swiftly by Kitui Media FC, who equalised the goal in 10 minutes through their striker Robert Kimanzi Junior.

Before the halftime break, Junior scored his second goal for Kitui, giving the guests a comfortable win before the break.

During the second half, the unbowed Kitui FC scored their third winning goal through their captain, Brian Mwangangi.

“I am happy we have won this friendly match; the game was fair,” said Kitui Media FC Captain Brian Mwangangi.

He urged the players to maintain discipline at all times and do more exercises to stay fit and reap the health benefits.

“Let’s do more exercises in the field and friendly matches because it’s good for our health; we are combating lifestyle diseases by doing exercise,” added Mwangangi.

Makueni media team official Simon Nthusi said both teams played well, noting that the game demonstrated unity among the journalists in the region.

“We played well, but Kitui’s side gave us a strong challenge, and we train more for future games,” noted Nthusi.

The platform gives media practitioners an opportunity to unite and work together as a team to foster socio-economic development in the region.
