Kisumu residents have been urged to turn out in large numbers to participate in the upcoming Kisumu Agricultural Show scheduled for July 26- 30.
The chairman of Kisumu Agricultural Show, George Ong’udi, said the event would have participants from the entire continent and asked the residents to come out in large numbers and show their support.
“The show gates will be opening on July 26 is a few days away from now and I would like to tell everybody that this time round, we are going to exhibit and showcase different things. Particularly, the key show will be on livestock and we are going to have exhibitors from around the region when I talk about the region it’s not only about Kisumu but includes countries bordering Kisumu including Tanzania and Uganda and we have gone as far as Ghana. So far, we have managed to reach 250 exhibitors that have confirmed participation so I urge all residents to join and support us,” rallied Ong’udi
The Chairman further noted that various concerned departments have finalised their preparations noting that a lot of support has also come from both levels of government.
This year’s ASK Kisumu show will happen after similar events failed to place since 2019 due to the Covid-19 outbreak that led to the banning of such events in the country.
“This year’s show will showcase various events like the trade sector, and the agricultural sector including the value addition plus other exhibitors such as the learning institutions and the gate charges will be Sh250 whereas there will be special charges for groups pegged at Sh200,” explained Ong’udi.
He noted that the absence of the event in the last three years has given the organizers ample time to come up with ways to spruce up the event and improve the ground with the expectation that this year’s event shall draw huge crowds.
