Kiambu MP announces full scholarships for Youths

Kiambu Member of Parliament (MP) Machua Waithaka has announced a full sponsorship program for young people to pursue technical short courses.

In a significant move aimed at empowering the youth of Kiambu Constituency, the initiative funded by the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NGCDF) covers a variety of fields including Plumbing, Masonry, Tiling, Cosmetology, Catering, and Electrical Engineering.

The MP who announced the full sponsorship program during the commissioning of the newly renovated Kangoya Primary School in Ndumberi said that this is a golden opportunity for the youth in the community to gain valuable skills that will help them secure employment and improve their future prospects.

“My leadership is determined to improve the lives of young people by sponsoring them to study technical short courses,” said Waithaka.

Eligible applicants are requested to provide a copy of their national ID, their parents’ ID, a birth certificate, two passport photos and an academic certificate.

Registration is currently ongoing at the chief’s offices in Ting’ang’a, Riabai, Ndumberi, and Kiambu Township the whole of this week.

According to the 2019 Kenya Population and Housing Census, Kiambu County youth population stands at 78 percent.

The MP explained that through the NG-CDF, Kangoya Primary School has seen comprehensive upgrades including the renovation of all classrooms, installation of tiles, construction of a perimeter wall and the addition of a modern gate and cabro paving.

“The idea is to give students an enabling environment for their studies and a good foundation,” Waithaka emphasized, reflecting his dedication to improving educational facilities in Kiambu.

The MP also assured the residents of his ongoing initiative to improve other primary schools in Kiambu such as Ngegu Primary, Kiambu Primary, Kiu-River Primary, Ndumberi and Ting’ang’a primary School among others.
