Kenyans urged to embrace SHA

In a significant push for universal healthcare access, National Government Administration Officers (NGAO) are leading the pack in promoting the Social Health Authority (SHA).

Consequently, Trans Mara West Deputy County Commissioner (DCC) Chuck Masua Speaking in Kilgoris has underscored the need for everyone to register with SHA, emphasizing that it is a vital initiative for achieving universal health coverage.

Masua said by registering, you’re taking the first step towards securing accessible healthcare services for you and your family.

The program is a part of the government’s commitment to ensuring that all Kenyans, regardless of their background or income, have the healthcare they deserve.

Masua urged local chiefs together with Community Health Promoters to actively engage with the community to spread awareness about SHA.

He emphasized that as a key stakeholder, public officials play an essential role in reaching out to residents and helping them understand the benefits of the program.

“I am calling on all chiefs and community health promoters to pass this message to every corner of the community,” Masua said

The DCC explained that SHA is part of a broader health initiative driven by the government, noting that healthcare is one of the key pillars under the Kenya Kwanza government’s Bottom-up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), which seeks to deliver quality services to citizens and improve their lives.

“Through SHA, we’re working towards an inclusive system, where every citizen can receive the care they need. It’s a fundamental part of our commitment under the government manifesto,” added Masua.
