Some 690 people have today tested positive for Covid-19 following testing of 5,393 samples over the last 24 hours.
This now brings the total number of positive cases in the country to 22,053 and cumulative tests carried out so far to 315,723.
In a press statement on Sunday, the Ministry of Health in its status updates of Corona virus in the country says out of the latest cases 681 are Kenyans, while nine are foreigners.
Today’s data further shows a gender breakdown of 492 males and 198 females while the youngest case is a 6-month-old infant and the oldest is 83 years old.
Today, 58 patients have been discharged from various hospitals, bringing the total number of recoveries to 8,477, but the country has also lost 5 patients to the disease, bringing the fatality total to 369.
Nairobi has again topped with the highest number of cases at 535, followed by Kiambu with 56 cases, Kajiado 28, Nyeri 24, Busia 9, Machakos 7, Nakuru 6, Kisumu 6, Embu 4, Garissa 4, Laikipia 3, Narok 3, Meru 1, Mombasa 1, Nyandarua1, Bungoma 1 and Kwale also with 1 case.
At Sub – County level, the cases in Nairobi are distributed as hereafter in Westlands 63, Langata 44, Dagoretti North 43, Dagorreti south 43, Embakasi East 40, Starehe 38, Kamukunji 32, Makadara 30, Embakasi South 29, Kasarani 27, Kibra 25, Embakasi West 23, Roysambu 21, Embakasi North 20, Embakasi Central 19, Ruaraka 19 and Mathare 19.
In Kiambu, the 56 cases are found in Ruiru with15, Gatundu south 12, Kikuyu 11, Limuru 6, Kiambu Town 4, Kiambaa 3, Juja 2, Kabete 2 and Lari 1.
In Kajiado the 28 cases are in Kajiado East having 18, Kajiado North 8 and Kajiado Central 2 while in Nyeri, all the 24 cases are in Nyeri Central.
For Busia, the 9 cases are in Teso North with 7 and Matayos 2. In Machakos, the 7 cases are in Athi- River 5, Machakos Town and Yatta have 1 case each.
In Nakuru, the 6 cases are spread in Naivasha with 4, Nakuru West 2, while in Kisumu the 6 cases are in Kisumu Central 5, and Kisumu East 1.
Embu’s 4 cases are all in Manyatta and as for Garissa the 4 cases are in Garissa Town while Laikipia’s 3 cases are all in Laikipia West, while Narok’s 3 cases are in Narok North.
Meru, Mombasa, Nyandarua, Bungoma and Kwale have One (1) case each and Imenti Central, Likoni, Kinagop, Webuye West and Msambweni respectively.
According to the WHO, in Africa, there were 18 027 positive cases in the last 24 hours and 311 deaths . Globally the total new cases in the last 24 hours are 289 321 while the deaths now stand at 6,142.
Overall numbers globally of Covid-19 positive cases stand at 17 396 943 cases while the deaths are 675 060.
