Kenya Highlands University Ag. Chancellor Dr. Daniel Ngeno has presided over the installation of Prof. Joseph Kiplangat as the new Vice Chancellor, describing him as a visionary and transformational leader with deep roots in academia and administration.
Dr. Ngeno noted Prof. Kiplangat has held various senior roles, including Acting Vice Chancellor at Africa International University and serving in the Ministry of Agriculture’s National Seed Quality Control Service.
“Prof. Kiplangat’s vast experience, spanning over 40 years in both public and private sectors, positions him to guide Kenya Highlands University to greater heights, as his leadership aligns perfectly with our mission to provide quality, Christian-based education,” said the Ag. Chancellor
Dr. Ngeno commended the university’s legacy of nurturing students with strong moral character and academic excellence.
“We are proud of the caliber of students who pass through this institution—young people who are committed to learning, guided by strong values, and prepared to serve,” said Dr. Ngeno.
Meanwhile the University has launched construction of a 2,400 capacity chapel, expected to cost Sh 25 million, reinforcing its commitment to spiritual development and community engagement.
The upcoming chapel is expected to become one of the most significant spiritual infrastructure projects in the South Rift region expected to serve not only students and staff but also host Christian groups and fellowships from across the country.
Speaking at the ground breaking ceremony, University Chancellor and Presiding Bishop of the Africa Gospel Church, Rev. Dr. Robert Langat, underscored the chapel’s role in advancing the institution’s holistic mission.
“The construction of this state-of-the-art chapel will strengthen spiritual life within our university and provide a vital space for worship, reflection, and community outreach,” said Dr. Langat.
Kenya Highlands University, a fully chartered institution sponsored by the Africa Gospel Church, offers a wide array of industry-aligned academic programs emphasizing timely completion of studies and integrating Christian principles into every aspect of student life.
