Kekalet Football Team from Teso North crashed their Teso South counterparts-Machakusi 2-0 in an entertaining Football Kenya Federation, Busia County league match, played at Kekalet Primary School grounds.
The hosts got a breakthrough in the 37th minute through their star player, Bernard Omuse, to go into halftime with a one goal advantage, in a tough group ‘B’ encounter.
The two teams came back into the second half, with each struggling to outdo the other, but it was not until the dying minutes of the game that Shadrack Omuse, added a second goal to firmly secure their grip on the match officiated by Abraham Karani, assisted by immaculate Akiror and Zakaria Ochudi.
In other group ‘B’ matches Mabale who lost 2-1 to new entrants in the league- Itoya FC last weekend secured a 2-2 draw against Labour FC at Mabale Primary School grounds.
Labour stocked the hosts with a 4th minute goal scored by James Barasa, before Peter Omondi, levelled the scores in the 24th minute.
Chrisantus Ajuma restored Labour’s lead in the 75th minute, before Joseph Ouma salvaged a point with an injury time goal to guard Mabale from a second consecutive loss to another newcomer in the league.
In another tough encounter of the group played at Buyama Primary School in Matayos South Ward Muungano FC beat Young Muslims by a solitary goal to nil.
David Okello netted the only goal in the 37th minute.
Muungano had to double their effort in the last quarter of the game after Centre Referee, Duncan Omondi, gave their player Byron Ogara marching orders in the 73rd minute for rough play.
