Kenya Communication Sports Organisation (KECOSO) games continue gathering momentum at various venues in Kericho town despite frequent disruptions of rains and chilly weather as participants display their best skills in an effort to scoop top positions in the various categories.
At Moi gardens, cheering Kericho residents were treated to a sterling performance by the Men Volleyball teams between the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) and the Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure, Housing, Urban Development and Public Works (MOTIHUD-PW).
In volleyball match, KCAA beat MOTIHUD-PW three sets to one in a score of 25-18 first set, second set of 25-22 in favour of MOTIHUD-PW. And third and fourth set 25- 16 and 25-18 scored in favour of KCAA.
The KECOSO Secretary General Omole Asiko said that the sporting activities would promote the mental and physical health of the participants as officers from various ministries and state government agencies mingle and interact.
“We are returning after a two year break and all participants are well energized that is why they are doing their level best in showcasing their skills and talents in different categories of the games,” said Asiko.
Other games were being held at various venues within the town including ACK Centre where competitors played Pool and Table-Tennis while the Scrabble game was at AIC Kericho, and basketball was being played at Kericho Teachers Training College.
Swimming competitions will be held on Wednesday at Keri West hotel within Kericho Town where participants will compete in various disciplines including breaststroke, freestyle, backstroke, butterfly, mixed relays and separate relays.
Teams competing in Darts, participated at Urwo Inn Kericho, while the Snooker game will be held at Kericho Gold club starting Wednesday to Friday.
The awards ceremony for the winners of all games will be held on Saturday 24th September which will also be the closing event of the 41st KECOSO games festival.
Participants of the KECOSO games are drawn from the organizing committee, Governing Council Members, Kericho Community, Senior Management team, Chief Executive Officers and Managing Directors.
