KDF to stay put in Operation Amani Boni Initiative

The Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) have reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing security, service delivery, and community engagement in the Boni area through the ongoing Operation Amani Boni (OAB) initiative.

Speaking during a visit to Boni the 8th Brigade Commander, Brigadier David Chesire called on Boni residents to continue fostering ties with security agencies in a bid to thwart out security threats in the area. He was speaking at Mangai area during a tour that took him to primary schools in Milimani Basuba, Mangai and Mararani areas.

He was accompanied by with Artillery Brigade Commander, Brigadier M. Mwenga, and OAB Commander Colonel Joel Tanui, in a tour that also included the top security officials visiting various Forward Operation Bases (FOBs) including those in Witu, Mkunumbi, and the General Service Unit (GSU) in Pandanguo, Lamu County.

The senior KDF official further assured Boni residents of continued support for the communities living within the Boni area in a bid to further stamp out marginalization fears.

 

The commanders’ visit also aimed to strengthen the morale of the troops deployed under OAB and reinforce the crucial role of the multi-agency security setup in ensuring the region’s safety.

Further in his remarks to security agencies based in the Boni area Brigadier Chesire further reiterated KDF’s commitment in ensuring our borders are safe.

He further highlighted during the visit the importance of fostering community bonds through Civil-military Co-operation and Key Leadership Engagement.

Brigadier Chesire stressed that these elements were vital contributors to the overall success of operations and the establishment of lasting security in the Boni area.

Sentiments echoed by Brigadier Mwenga who commended the troops for their professionalism and camaraderie.

He expressed confidence that the multi-agency approach employed to combat insecurity will bear fruit emphasizing the significance of professionalism in creating a positive and collaborative working environment.
