As Kenya Certificate of Secondary School Examinations (KCSE) entered its second day, in Baringo County without any hitch on Tuesday.
The County Director of Education (CDE), Moses Karati, said the 10,267 registered candidates are sitting the exams in their respective centers save for two girls who are writing the papers at the hospitals maternity.
He said that the female candidates who delivered were comfortably sitting for the exams as they nurse their new born babies at the Baringo County Referral and Marigat Sub- county Hospitals respectively.
Karati said a total of 5185 boys and 5082 girls are taking examinations in 174 centres spread across the seven Sub counties of Baringo.
In Marigat, the Deputy County Commissioner, Job Anunda, said the rains that interrupted KCPE examinations last week had subsided thus enabling Centre Managers and security personnel to deliver exam papers and materials to remote schools in time and with ease.
Anunda who spoke to KNA on telephone while on monitoring exercise in the field said security in the cattle rustling prone zones was very good.
He said there was only one private candidate in the Sub-county, sitting for the exams at the Marigat Integrated Primary School.
In Baringo North and Central, the exam papers were delivered to all examination centres in time.
The Baringo North Deputy County Commissioner, Joseph Obwocha, said no major transportation challenges has been reported in the area despite some rains which pounded the region on Monday evening.
Obwocha said all registered candidates are sitting for the exams in addition to five private candidates at Moi Day Kabartonjo Secondary School.
