Kakamega County Governor Fernandes Barasa has committed to completing the Likuyani Aggregation and Industrial Park, which will provide an opportunity for the value addition of various value chains in the region.

Barasa said the transformative agenda will also generate more job opportunities for vulnerable youth and improve their livelihoods.

The Governor spoke at St.Mathias Mulumba Catholic Church in Nzoia ward, Likuyani Sub County.

He was accompanied by area MP Innocent Mugabe, Lugari MP Nabii Nabwera, MCAs led by Majority Whip Benard Mulama, host MCA Collins Chapurukha, County officials and the Parish community.

The Governor also said his agenda area includes the elevation of Matunda Township to a Municipality in a bid to bring more services closer to the people.

“In the next financial year, we also plan to upgrade the Kona Mbaya-Spencon-Nzoia River Road to bitumen standards in the same locality,” added the Governor.

He said the opening of the roads will help and boost trade in the area as additional access roads will be unlocked to many residents for business activities.
