Kabuchai Constituency Development Fund has granted bursaries amounting to Sh18 million to 4,010 students joining form one this year.
Area MP, Majimbo Kalasinga handed over the cheques to the beneficiaries, all drawn from poor families to cater for their tuition fees.
Speaking at NG-CDF offices at Musese in Chwele, Kalasinga said that the cash will allow needy and bright students to join schools of their choice.
Majimbo said that from the 5,000 applications received, only 90 students missed, most of them from neighboring constituencies.
The Ford Kenya lawmaker added that the students who made the list will have their fees paid for the entire four years.
Majimbo urged beneficiaries to maintain high levels of discipline and work hard to achieve good results and shape their future.
Majimbo asked school heads to liaise with the constituency bursary team on future payments to avoid disrupting the learners.
He said that Wabukhony’i Secondary School in Kabuchai constituency was the highest beneficiary from the NG-CDF funds, having received a total of Sh1.09 million.
