Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Jonny Andersen exited the Authority Thursday, after declining an offer to renew his contract which was due to expire on November 21, 2019.
Announcing Andersen’s departure, KAA Chairman Isaac Awuondo said the MD who joined the Authority in November 2016 opted not to renew his contract which was due to expire on November 21, 2019.
He said during the MD’s tenure in office, he brought good knowledge of the industry and an ability to forge consensus among stakeholders.
“During his tenure we built a strong foundation for future growth, including strengthening our management team, improving our operations and enhancing customer service,” added Awoudo.
In a press statement sent to newsrooms, the Chairman assured that the KAA Board is committed to ensuring that the Kenya Airports Authority fulfills its full potential to enable its customers experience stress free travel.
The chairman who wished the outgoing MD well in his future endeavors, described him as a great leader who served the Authority with distinction.
He also announced that the recruitment process for a new CEO/Managing Director has already commenced.
