Junet Mohamed retains parliamentary Seat

Azimio la Umoja -One Kenya Coalition Secretary Junet Mohamed has retained the Suna East Parliamentary seat.

Junet garnered 26,516 votes to beat five opponents. Some 40,534 (74 per cent) out of the 54,495 registered voters participated in the exercise.

This will be the third consecutive term that Junet Mohamed will serve as Suna East MP having been elected for the first time in 2013.

In the Presidential results the Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya Alliance candidate Raila Odinga garnered 38,391 votes while UDA’s flagbearer Dr William Ruto received 2,128 votes. Roots Party presidential candidate Prof. George Wajackoyah and Agano Party Leader David Mwaure received 74 and 27 votes respectively.

Suna East Constituency Returning Officer Clement Osiemo noted that the total presidential votes cast was 40,620 translating to 75 per cent turnout.
