The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has submitted the names of seven Judges to President Uhuru Kenyatta for appointment to the Office of Judge of the Court of Appeal.
JSC recommended the names of Justice Kimaru Luka Kiprotich, Gachoka Paul Mwaniki, Lady Justice Lydia Achode, Justice Ochieng’ Fredrick Andago, Justice Mativo John Mutinga, Lady Justice Ngenye Grace Wangui and Lady Justice Aroni Abida Ali, who have been nominated after appearing for interviews for the positions.
In a press statement sent to newsrooms, Chief Justice and Chairperson, Judicial Service Commission Martha Koome said JSC had finalized the interview process on 13th July 2022 for the vacant positions it had advertised on 14th March this year.
“After lengthy deliberations and careful consideration of the performance of the various candidates and based on constitutional imperative of merit, gender, regional balance, affirmative action and public interest, JSC recommended the names forwarded to the President,” said Koome.
The CJ who is also the President of the Supreme Court thanked the candidates, Kenyans and all stakeholders for their participation in the recruitment and selection process.
